Review of latest Whatsapp with stories feature
(Feb 27 2017 at 08:44am)The latest official update for Whatsapp brings some huge changes. The most visible change is the new status tab (stories).
The new status feature allows users to share still photos, animated GIFs, and videos which will be displayed to their contacts for 24 hours. After 24 hours a status post will be deleted.
This feature looks very much like something you will find on SnapChat or Instagram and makes Whatsapp a lil bit more than just an instant messaging app. The old Whatsapp text status has been removed.
Extra: two months ago I noticed that BBM now allows users to share photos on their update tab. Just like the new Whatsapp status this feature makes BBM more than an IM app.
