Ronaldo hits back at Xavi after Messi comparison

Cristiano Ronaldo has hit back at Xavi’s recent comments regarding his place in the footballing pecking order behind Lionel Messi.
Earlier this week the former Barcelona midfielder told Cadena SER (via Goal) that the only people who believe Ronaldo is better than Messi are Real Madrid fans, claiming the latter will hold the world’s best player tag “until he wants”.
Following his goal for Los Blancos on Saturday, the 30-year-old responded to Xavi’s comments, telling Marca: “I’m the most searched for player on the internet. Whoever wants to be on the front page speaks about me, why would I care about what Xavi is saying about me, he plays in Qatar or wherever, I don’t know.
“He’s won everything but he’s never won the Ballon D’Or. I’ve won three.”
