Payporte ends payment on delivery(PoD)

Recently we have heard a lot about the disadvantages of the payment on delivery option by Nigerian online retailers. Remember the story about a jumia delivery man that was murdered by a customer who ordered an iPhone 7.

Payporte is distancing itself from pay on delivery. They placed a banner on their site to announce this.

I can only imagine what online retailers go through to handle payment on delivery... Maybe online shopping in this region is still too young for payment on delivery. What do you think?
