Display Linux Distro Logo in ASCII

Nov 20 2015 at 07:05pm

You may have seen Linux or Mac desktop screenshots with the logo showing in the terminal. Screenfetch helps you do just that and this will show you how to install screenfetch on different distributions and show the logo on your terminal too.

Ubuntu-Based:
To install on ubuntu distros such as Mint, Elementary, etc, just run:

sudo apt-get install screenfetch

If you are on Trusty(14.04) or Vervet(15), you have to add the PPA first by running the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:djcj/screenfetch
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install screenfetch

Fedora-Based:

sudo dnf install screenfetch

ArchLinux Based:

sudo pacman -S screenfetch

Apple's OSX:

brew install screenfetch

After installation, Just run "screenfetch" (without quotes) from the terminal and boom...!
