Dele Alli suspended for three European games

Mar 24 2017 at 02:07pm

Tottenham Midfielder Bamidele Alli has been suspended by UEFA for three games after he was given a red card in the Europa League match against Gent.

Alli was given a straight red card in the 39th minute of the game for his horrific tackle on Gent player Brecht Dejaegere.
The game eventually ended 2-2, Tottenham were knocked out by the Belgian side 3-2 on aggregate.

Since Tottenham are out of any European competition this season, The suspension will be moved to next season if Tottenham qualify for the
Champions League or Europa League.

Dele Alli will therefore miss the first three games of any European competition his club qualify for.

UEFA has released a statement : "Tottenham FC player Dele Alli has been suspended for three UEFA competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible.

The 20 year old is in fine form for his club this season, scoring vital goals for his side. with 14 goals and 6 assists in the league he is definitely Tottenham's best player after Harry Kane.

With Alli's suspension Tottenham will have to find a way to play without their star player for the first three European games next season.

They are on course to qualify for Europe next season, they sit on second position on the EPL table with 59points and 10 games left to play.
